TAC needs a Premium key, Story leaves the Advanced API
From 1 November 2026, TAC moves to Premium-only and the Advanced API stops serving Story. Keyless calls and Freemium keys stop working on TAC mainnet and the SPB testnet. Story RPC stays available with a Premium key, as announced in October. No method limits, error codes or rate limits changed on any other network.
Docs
- The TAC API reference now uses TAC mainnet in every example and in the Run buttons. The Turin testnet examples are gone, because we no longer serve Turin.
- The chain list marks Kaia, Story, Optimism and TAC as Premium-only.
- The Advanced API pages, SDK pages and the OpenAPI spec no longer list
story_mainnetorstory_aeneid_testnet.
Deprecations and end-of-support
Premium key required
| Network | Endpoints | From |
|---|---|---|
| TAC | mainnet, SPB testnet: EVM JSON-RPC, Tendermint, Cosmos REST and gRPC | 1 November 2026 |
From that date, a keyless call or a Freemium key on TAC returns HTTP 403 with -32052. The code does not clear on retry, so a key with the right plan is the only fix.
This follows Kaia, Story and Optimism, which moved to Premium in October.
Story leaves the Advanced API
| Network | Value | From |
|---|---|---|
| Story | story_mainnet, story_aeneid_testnet | 1 November 2026 |
From that date, the Advanced API rejects these values with -32602. A blockchain array that still contains one of them fails as a whole, so the other chains in that request return nothing either.
Worth checking on your side
- A keyless TAC endpoint in your configuration is the thing to look for. Search for
rpc.ankr.com/tacwithout a key after it. The same applies to the Tendermint and Cosmos REST endpoints. - Remove
story_mainnetandstory_aeneid_testnetfrom every Advanced APIblockchainlist, including multi-chain balance calls such asankr_getAccountBalance. Omittingblockchainkeeps working and queries all supported chains. -32052on a Freemium key means the network needs Premium. See Service plans to upgrade, then use the same key.- Nothing changes for Premium and Enterprise RPC keys on TAC. Same rate limits, same batch size, same block range, and no method moved between plans.
