Plasma

tip

Available for Premium and Enterprise users only.

Plasma API is available on Web3 API platform.

Plasma is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 built for stablecoin payments. It pairs PlasmaBFT consensus with a Reth-based execution layer, uses XPL (18 decimals) as its native gas token, and produces a block about every second. The chain ID is 9745.

The examples on these pages run against mainnet, https://rpc.ankr.com/plasma/YOUR_ANKR_API_KEY. Over WSS, connect to wss://rpc.ankr.com/plasma/ws/YOUR_ANKR_API_KEY.

Your Web3 application reads Plasma data and sends transactions through a Plasma node, calling the methods of its API.

The API interaction follows the JSON-RPC which is a stateless, light-weight remote procedure call (RPC) protocol. It defines several data structures and the rules around their processing. It is transport agnostic in that the concepts can be used within the same process, over sockets, over HTTP, or in other message-passing environments. It uses JSON (RFC 4627) as data format.
